Today was my second visit to Decorex, my first visit was as a student, therefore today was a completely different experience to before. When I went as a student I was solely looking at the fabric stands, as at the time I was doing a project creating my own fabric collections, so I was focusing on all things fabric and patterns. Today however I actually got to enjoy the whole show as I simply went to enjoy myself and didn’t have a looming project in my mind.

I love going to Decorex as you get to see products from luxury suppliers which you don’t come across day to day. What I think is also great is that as well as luxury established suppliers there are also exhibits from emerging talent also.

One trend that was dominant at the show today was what I can only really describe as

‘B O T A N I C A L  G A R D E N S’

Colour scheme wise there was a lot of emerald greens, oranges and teals. Brass was the most frequently used metal today, in no exaggeration I think every exhibition stand has some sort of brass incorporated within it. There was a heavy plant and insect influence in the fabric patterns and also in furniture detailing. Every stand had a lot of plants and foliage both of the real and artificial varieties, a lot of prints in frames and on canvas were also of leaves and plants.
